They need reconditioning in terms of being able to resume a satisfying sex life.

Despite Viagra s success, sex therapists say it hasn t put them out of business. Far from it, said Jane Greer, a New York psychotherapist and a former online sex columnist for Redbook magazine.

Couples having problems in the bedroom may still need to deal with intimacy and anger, she said. But Viagra can enable them to keep having sex, preventing a further erosion of their relationship while they work things out.

Sexual self-esteem is very fragile for both men and women, Greer said. Both men and women are very sensitive about how desirable they are, how well they perform and please their partner. The thing that makes Viagra so wonderful is that it can take away a lot of the performance anxiety.
